As the year wound down, we found ourselves with a desire to burn off a little energy, revitalize our team spirit and have a little fun. Options were discussed, activities were voted on and just like that, we were racing around the track in go-karts, pretending like we didn’t mean to smash into one another.
Having fun is a big part of our corporate culture. We work hard, and as such, we strive to play hard. It is important that we not only feel motivated in our work, but that we also take the time to bond outside of the office; it just makes working on projects together that much more seamless. Sometimes that means an extended team lunch where we throw back a few slices of pizza and share anecdotes from our home lives. Other times, it requires a bit more than 45 minutes standing around our office kitchen. This was one of those times.
The team headed off early one Thursday afternoon to TBC Richmond, an indoor go-karting track about 30 minutes from our office. Armed with the competitive nature we all seem to possess, we were ready to race to the death, and claim title of ultimate SALESWORKS champion.
I am not surprised, but perhaps a tad embarrassed to say that I am the exact opposite of a go-kart champion.
George, our fearless leader jumped right in and sped away! All those years practicing with his Porsche on the race track probably helped him out just a little!
Of course, nothing quite prepares you for go-kart racing like hours of kart racing games, and some experience on an actual kart track. Colin and Bryan are tearing it up, go-kart style!
The newest member of the SALESWORKS team wasted no time embracing this team building exercise. Here we see Nick, whipping around the track, all proper like a true Brit!
And as you can see, our consultants aren’t just here to drive your business; they are also here to drive go-karts! Dana and Enzo go for broke!
Erica and Terry understand the importance of good presentation, even as they race along the track, they are able to pause for a moment and show their excitement!
Genina keeps everyone in line, both in AND out of the office:
All in all it was a great event. We raced, we partook in some good old fashioned trash talk, and we finished the night with a delicious Chinese dinner. What more could you ask?
Brandee and Genina, show their game face (and already know they’ve lost):
That’s how we ended our year here at SALESWORKS. There is nothing like a little bit of team building out of the office to get us refreshed for the start of a new year. What does your team do to keep the team spirit alive in your organization?
<photo credit goes to Cam who, while in attendance is bound and determined to remain an international man of mystery. We weren’t able to capture a photo of him in the wild!>.
“SALESWORKS brings a deep and broad experience set that we can tap into. Whether it’s sales consulting, e-marketing or general advertising knowledge, we can rely on SALESWORKS to add immediate value when we engage them.”
