You’re Going To Be Waiting For A Long Time.
A lot of things have been said about the shift towards Cloud Computing. The early adopters are already fully entrenched in the ins and outs of the Cloud, while the early majority are starting to accept the Cloud as the way of the future. It’s pure logic. For those of you who are the late majority, or worse, the laggards, I have only one question:
If you think the Clouds will part, and it will once again be sunny for the old school, on-premise solution providers, it’s time you think again.
Cloud ERP businesses are moving faster than anyone could have anticipated. It seems the market was ready for this shift in technology, and the way companies want to pay for IT in the future – or at least it seems that all the marketing dollars are working. I am reminded of the mid-80’s, when the shift from mini-computer to client server first started to take shape. Many technology partners simply refused to believe and acknowledge the impact this would have on their businesses; and many technology partners (approximately 50%) were completely wiped off the map and relegated to irrelevance.
The Cloud is threatening to leave in its wake a trail of Partners who deny the significance of the movement towards cloud-based services. As is always the way with developments in technology, there is the process of out with the old and in with the new. This is no exception.
With the development of products like NetSuite and SAP ByDesign, ERP in the Cloud is swiftly becoming a legitimate business offering. A quick internet search for “ERP Cloud Vendor” will give you more than 6.2 million results in less than 0.20 seconds. Now, not all of the results point to a specific vendor, but most of them do point to information on the top 20 players in the space. The rest point to 100’s of smaller, lesser known but equally legitimate vendors who do or plan to provide ERP in the Cloud.
No matter how you look at it, ERP in the Cloud is spreading like wild fire and it is here to stay.
ERP in the Cloud meets the needs of today’s business client. It allows for scalability and increased capabilities, without requiring huge capital outlays, or additional investments in infrastructure, licensing or staff development. At a time where everyone is trying to cut costs and scale their businesses, a move towards Cloud Computing is not only an option, it’s a best bet.
Are you ready to move your business to the Cloud, or are you ready to hand your client base over to 1 of these current competitors? :

Ignoring the Cloud will only lead to one thing – getting poured on!
